Latinas are already leading, in the home, in the community and on the front lines of just about every business and organization. Latinas are driving most businesses and organizations. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Latina workforce, most businesses and organizations would not properly function. However, they are not formally recognized for their leadership and bottom-line contributions, and many Latinas lead without recognizing their own leadership and bottom-line contributions.
Although the front-lines of most businesses and organizations are carried by Latinas, we see a lack of Latina representation at the management, executive and board of director’s level. Latinas could easily help manage and lead businesses and organizations at those levels but are rarely given the opportunity. Sometimes it’s as simple as bringing attention to the contributions we bring to the executive leadership, but oftentimes, we need a little help and training to articulate our skillsets and advocate for our own promotion and advancement.
