Our Chicana/Latina Culture, History, Identity and Power classes are the second set in our leadership development series. These classes examine the role Chicanas and Latinas play on a broader cultural, religious and societal spectrum. We teach and learn about the larger contributions we make to our communities and countries. We also discuss the challenges we are confronted with, paying special attention to how even women uphold harmful beliefs, customs and traditions.

A very important theme throughout these classes is healing. Because we hold such an important role in our families and communities, we must focus on personal health and healing so that we can help our families and communities to heal from the harmful effects of capitalism, patriarchy, and racism.
